Here is my attempt at consolidating some of that news and bringing it to you so you can be gently reminded of why taking a moment to breathe deeply every now and then is more than a trend. Wellness and Healing News:

Adaptogens (found in some mushrooms) help us cope with the stresses of modern life by supporting healthy cellular function.  Read this to learn more and see which products to buy.

 

Supporting our friends when they are experiencing mental illness or a tough time is so important.  But most people don't know where to start.  Here's a great article that gives clear actions to take to be a strong shoulder to lean on.  It's not even complicated!

 

I've been a serious proponent of earthing (grounding) for years now based on my positive experience with it.  I often tell people to do it, to walk/stand barefoot on the earth for at least 15 minutes.  This article explains why earthing works and its many benefits.

 

Wellness is not a shot of healthy liquids in a plastic bottle.  It's really about nurturing yourself and finding the right balance to keep you present through the complexities of life.  This author tried the healthy-liquid-shot method and I'm sharing because it was entertaining.

 

July 24th was International Self Care Day! Here's a little write up about it which includes lots of very helpful infographics and 6 simple tips on best ways to implement self care right now!

 

Speaking of self care, I love BUSTLE's list of 15 old-fashioned things to do to implement a self care practice.  I love #5! I remember my mom doing that and also making homemade face masks.  Remember, self care doesn't have to cost a bunch of money.  It's an actual practice, not something to consume.
